Before Zoe was born, I think I thought I knew a few people in Houston. Now I'm praying for and thinking of Robbie and his family, Your Favorite Baseball Player Chris Sampson and his family and then the other million and a half people ravaged by the storm.

Friendswood, just south of Houston, was ravaged by Ike's fury. Evidently it went right over us. The little forest in our backyard which drew us to this property some 10 years ago has toppled; we think we see two trees standing amongst the natural debris. Thankfully our house was spared by one of the tallest trees that missed it by inches. Unfortunately, our neighbor's house was hit by two of their trees and the impact broke a water pipe so they sustained much interior flooding and damage. So it is with many of us. Clean up will take a long time. Schools are closed all this week so the kids can help with the restoration. God is good. Thanks for your prayers!
