Happy Birthday, Brother

Yesterday my brother turned 33. I can't think of a time when we both seemed so old and so young at the same time. We have nothing in common and sometimes, too much.

He's on the precipice of having baby 2. I just had baby 8. He's having problems going to sleep. I'm having problems being allowed to sleep. His sleeplessness involves physical struggles and a sleep study...mine involves a 9 lb, 9 ounce ball of pepper named Zoe.

Andreas is wearing a sleeve around his elbow as a part of his sleep study. He says it has lights and stuff on it, which he says makes him look like a robot. I asked if he used it as a line to seduce his wife. He said he already tried. No dice.

I guess I would have thought the robot line would have been golden.

For a few minutes of talking loopy and at least one joke about flatulence, it was good to have him near. Men are solitary figures, sometimes by choice. Brothers and best friends are the closest you can get to feeling someone near.

Picture Please....with the robot arm and a cape pretending he is the "believe it or not" guy. We truly would like to see how he looks now aday. All I can see in my head is this cute little preschooler singing in the vacuum to John Denver's "Fly Away - ooooo" song and then running out to drive his big wheel with mags. Even though he would kick you in the shins with his corrective shoes, he still was the cutest little guy in N.O. that adored his favorite sis...and we miss him SO much. Love you-from your fellow peapod.

Please get a photo of Uncle Buzz Lightyear. That's a new one. As far as "the cousins" are concerned, their uncles include:two firemen, one soccer coach, one gym teacher, one who owns both a motorcycle AND a snowmobile, and one who gets to go to Packer and Brewer games. No one knows what you or Phil do anyway, even though we know you both work really hard and enjoy your jobs.
    Happy Birthday, Buzz!
    Ever the oldest sister, Deirdre

Happy happy birthday, dreas! Maybe you can name your robot sleeve Kit and go solve some crimes!
I've heard a shot of good whiskey before bed helps with your sleep...not that I know anyone who's tried that...Love and smooches to you all on the west coast!

Oh yeah, I think Charis is 30 now. Wow. She's catching up to us.
