Michael's Gift

Michael was walking his dog and had a vision of what he wanted to shoot, and how he wanted it to look, and asked if he could come and shoot Zoe. He said this was the first time in a long while that he wanted to pick up his camera and shoot something.

Michael came up, shot in HD and then went home and immediately started editing. He finished, showed his wife, who was moved...then went to his mom's to show her. She was deeply touched.

Michael called me on his way back from his mom's and thanked me. He said it woke up his soul.

We know, Michael. Thank you for sharing your incredible gift with us so we can share our incredible gift - a 4.5 pound soul stirrer (Michael says his camera weighs more than Zoe) - with you all.

Here's what Michael made.

  4. Zoe is such a precious and beautiful little girl and this video is such a wonderful testament that she is surrounded with such love from all of you. How blessed to only know love here on earth. I am praying for all of you as you get through each day. It must be so difficult yet so blessed at the same time. May God keep you in His peace.

    Be still, my soul; the Lord is on thy side;
    Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
    Leave to thy God to order and provide;
    In ev'ry change He faithful will remain.
    Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heav'nly Friend
    Thro' thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

    Be still, my soul; thy God doth undertake
    To guide the future as He hath the past.
    Thy hope, thy confidence, let nothing shake;
    All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
    Be still, my soul; the waves and winds still know
    His vioce who ruled them while He dwelt below.

    Be still, my soul, tho' dearest friends depart
    And all is darrkened in the vale of tears;
    Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
    Who comes to soothe thy sorrows and thy fears.
    Be still, my soul; thy Jesus can repay
    From His own fulness all He takes away.

    Be still, my soul; the hour is hast'ning on
    When we shall be forever with the Lord,
    When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
    Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.
    Be still, my soul; when change and tears are past,
    All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

    Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God.

    My own words for you all are just a big mess right now - my heart wants to say so much, but I'm pretty sure there are no words that fit. Thank you for sharing this with me.

    Zoe is beautiful.

  8. I had to watch this video several times. The beauty of it is in its simplicity. The simple piano....and the simple yet profound theme of human touch. It's extremely universal.

    I saw almost a dance going on between the touch of loved ones and Zoe's responses...her smile around 1:54 seemed like a message of gratitude and joy. Her clenching onto Greg's hand....almost like a message that she did not want to let go. Her closed and calm sleepy eyes to Jen's touch....seemed to speak of peace and safety. Then, around :16as she gazes into the camera, I wonder, "what is it those eyes are saying"?

    This is an extremely beautiful subject matter and very well filmed.

    I will continue to watch it and ponder...........

    Never give in - never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy. - Winston Churchill

    We stand with you in the daily ups and downs of what God has gifted you with. We pray you find His rest and peace. We continue to stand firm as warriors in this battle, and we promise not to yeld to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy, who will NEVER WIN.
