FYI

I guess to some of you it sounded like I left seven of my children all night for a rock concert, swung by Zoe's room for the rest of the night, then hustled home to continue my role as an less-then-attentive father to my kids. That didn't happen.

I'm a pretty good dad. You can ask around.

  1. Oh I hope no one said that to you-I know I did not think anything of it, I know you love and care for your kids.

    God Bless You and Yours,

  2. I'm still a lurking reader, keeping tabs on your precious Zoe! I'm glad to hear that things are stable! And as for the last comment...your clarification...who said that you weren't a good dad?!? Lemme at 'em! Lemme at 'em! In all seriousness...you've been keeping watch over Zoe in a VERY brave and loving way. How much more wonderful of parents could Zoe POSSIBLY have? So you took a little "me" time...I'm sure it gave you a fresh start to your Zoe vigil! GOD BLESS YOU GUYS...and little Zoe, too!

  3. Oh, it didn't sound that way at all! I was thinking to myself that w/all you have going on how awesome you got a little break and how selfless of you to support those that are supporting you...Rock on for Zoe!

  5. Don'tcha just love it when someone sees a snapshot moment-in-time of your life and makes a sweeping judgment call?? ~sigh~ Keep on "keeping on" and try to shrug off the criticisms. Know that you're getting the applause of many, including the applause of heaven. I know you're living a life that very few could pull off - all because you're relying on His strength!

    Much love to you all!

Delurking just to say, "What, that's ridiculous!"

I'm pretty sure that if you look in the dictionary under wonderful dad it has your picture next to it. :)

Don't let the nay-sayers get to you.

Greg - I totally smell what your stepping in and it would seem that it might be taken that way to people who think they can live your life better than you.

However, I always say that a parent is measured in life by the love of their children and nothing less. I know firsthand how much all of your kids love you, and to have someone even hint that you're anything less than an awesome dad is RIDICULOUS.

Why don't the people who feel your less-than-stellar fathering ask the rest of your kids their thoughts on your parenting? Or just have them call me and I can set them straight.

I'm tired of bullies and others weighing in on situations that are not their own. You have eight beautiful children who adore you as much as you adore them. Any child should be so lucky to have you as a dad.
